A soft toy reassures; it suggests care, gentleness and protection. Diverted, weakened or marked, it confronts viewers with what they would rather ignore: physical and psychological violence, bullying, discrimination, exile, war, exploitation, and collective silence.
The soft toy becomes a substitute body and a silent witness: it makes it possible to address these subjects without depicting the child. Paint, assemblage, textile, rope, mirror, marine waste: each work stands alone, together they form a journey.
Green Planet, made with waste collected in the Mediterranean, was created with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation. This work is linked to the artist's own story, without becoming testimony.
